Dr. Lei's lecture focused on medical informatics and health economics and elucidated the relationship between medical informatics, image informatics, and biomedical engineering. He also explained the four basic systems of hospital information systems – HIS, EMR, LIS, and RIS/PACS – as well as the principles and characteristics of various imaging device technologies. Additionally, Dr. Lei shared innovations in medical imaging technology and future developments, including new imaging technologies, multimodal fusion technologies, and AI imaging combined with remote medical imaging technologies.

Dr. Lei analyzed three avenues for medical informatics development in health economics. First, unifying core hospital information systems can improve quality, reduce costs, and facilitate sharing. Second, consolidating resident health records to establish patient-centered health records can assist in the achievement of national health. Finally, integrating digital and cloud imaging to avoid duplicate examinations can facilitate sharing and consultation. Dr. Lei's insights provided new perspectives and ideas for medical informatics to enhance quality, increase efficiency, and reduce costs in healthcare. He discussed the drivers of digital and cloud imaging development at the national, hospital, and individual levels from big data and digital economy perspectives.

Finally, Dr. Lei explained and engaged in extensive discussion in response to attendees’ technical and research-oriented questions.
