Vincent Zhihua ZHANG

Special Advisor of Strategic Development, Institute for Global Health and Development, Peking University

Research Field: Hospital Management, Smart Health and Elderly Care

Vincent Zhihua Zhang, a renowned research fellow, obtained his Doctor degree in Financial Management through the joint doctoral program from the National School of Development at Peking University and Fordham University in the United States (2015,inaugural cohort), under the mentorship of Professor Gordon Liu, Dean of the Institute for Global Health and Development. In 2009, he earned a full-time MBA jointly conferred by Lingnan College at Sun Yat-sen University and the Sloan School of Management at MIT. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Sun Yat-sen University in 2001.

Dr. Zhang currently serves as Special Advisor to the Strategic Development Department at the Institute for Global Health and Development at Peking University. He is also an Industry Expert-in-Residence at the Gabelli School’s Center for Research in Contemporary Finance at Fordham University, an external mentor for the Master of Finance program at Lingnan College of Sun Yat-sen University, and an industry mentor for master’s programs at the Business School(Entrepreneurship School) of Sun Yat-sen University. Additionally, he also holds various prestigious positions, such as being an expert member of the Research Institute for Innovative Applications of Next-Generation Information Technology under the GUANGZHOU INFORMATION INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION, a council member of the Hong Kong Association of Outstanding Talents, and a recognized innovative talent under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "QM Plan."

Dr. Zhang has a wealth of professional experience. He previously served as an Investment Manager for China at a publicly listed hospital group in Thailand, where he managed operations and investments in International Hospitals. From 2001 to 2008, he held the position of General Manager of a Division at Lenovo Group's Shenzhen branch, being distinguished as one of the youngest department heads at that time. His contributions were recognized with several honors, including the “Special General Manager Award” and the “Outstanding Leader Award”.

In academia, Dr. Zhang has made significant contributions to the National Natural Science Foundation of China project entitled "China Hospital Management Intervention Experiment Based on World Management Survey (WMS)" (Grant No. 71773002), which was rated as "excellent." He is currently working on several research papers, with his main research interests revolving around hospital management, medical tourism, and smart health and elderly care.
