Vincent Zhihua ZHANG

Special Advisor of Strategic Development, Institute for Global Health and Development, Peking University

Research Field: Hospital Management, Smart Health and Elderly Care

Vincent Zhihua Zhang, a distinguished research fellow, earned his Doctor degree in Financial Management through the joint doctoral program between the National School of Development at Peking University and Fordham University in the United States, under the mentorship of Professor Guoen Liu, Director of the Institute for Global Health and Development. In 2009, he completed a full-time MBA jointly conferred by Lingnan College at Sun Yat-sen University and the Sloan School of Management at MIT. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Sun Yat-sen University, obtained in 2001.

Dr. Zhang serves as a Special Advisor to the Strategic Development Department at the Institute for Global Health and Development at Peking University. Additionally, he holds several prominent positions, including expert member of the Research Institute for Innovative Applications of Next-Generation Information Technology under the GUANGZHOU INFORMATION INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION, council member of the Hong Kong Association of Outstanding Talents, and recognized innovative talent under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s “QM Plan.” His professional experience includes serving as Investment Manager for China at a public listed hospital group in Thailand, where he oversaw operations and investments in International Hospitals. From 2001 to 2008, he was the General Manager of a Division at Lenovo Group's Shenzhen office, distinguished as one of the youngest department head at the time, and received numerous accolades including the General Manager’s Special Award and Outstanding Leader Award.

Dr. Zhang has actively contributed to the National Natural Science Foundation of China project titled “China Hospital Management Intervention Experiment Based on World Management Survey (WMS)” (Grant No. 71773002), which received an "excellent" rating. He has several working papers in progress, with his primary research interests encompassing hospital management, medical tourism, and smart health and elderly care.
