QIN Xuezheng is Professor of Economics, Associate Dean of the School of Economics and the Institute for Global Health and Development, and Director of Research Center for Market Economy, Peking University. He has successively presided over a number of research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Humanities and Social Sciences Foundation of the Chinese Ministry of Education, and Canadian International Development Research Centre. He has published over 60 academic papers in peer-reviewed journals, such as Journal of Comparative Economics, Health Economics, Health Policy and Planning, China Economic Review, China Economic Quarterly, Health Economics Policy and Law, and Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance, and books like Applied Econometrics with EViews and SAS Examples, Migrant Workers in China’s New Health Insurance System: A Study on the Effectiveness of Coverage, and Principles of Economics (co-author). He was elected as president for China Labor Economist Forum, and served as Guest Editor for China Economic Review, Economic and Political Studies, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, and Inquiry. He is also an Editorial Board Member for China Health Review, an External Reviewer for National Natural Science Foundation of China & National Social Science Foundation of China, and an Executive Council Member for Beijing Association for Non-Party Senior Intellectuals. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. His primary research interests include health economics, economics of human capital, and applied econometrics.
