WANG Tao

Research Field: Dialysis Therapy, Chronic Kidney Disease, Autoimmune Disease, Chronic Disease Management and Big Data

Professor Wang,  Chairman of the Chronic Disease Management Committee of China Aging Well Association, and a professor and doctoral supervisor, Department of nephrology of Peking University Third HospitalTao and of Peking University Institute for Global Health and Development. He graduated from Wannan Medical College, Anhui Province in 1988, and received his PH.D. from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in 1995. Then he went to Karolinska Institute in Sweden to engage in postdoctoral research.  In 2001, he received the Chiangkang Scholar Award from the Ministry of Education, and was selected into” the New Centuary National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project” in 2004. He served as a council member of the International Society of Blood Purification and International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis and chaired the Asian Chapter of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis. He organized in Beijing some large international conferences such as the Annual Meeting of International Society of Blood Purification and conference of Asian chapter of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis. He received the John F. Maher Award in 2001. He is specialized in dialysis therapy, chronic kidney disease, autoimmune disease, chronic disease management and big data and artificial intelligence in medicine. He has established the world-leading, cost-effective integrated chronic disease management model, and has committed to explore optimal disease payment schemes. He has now established a supervised autonomy-supportive system which could be used for all chronic diseases.
