YIN Hui

Assistant Professor, School of Public Health and Institute for Global Health and Development

Research Field: Global Health Promotion, Global Health Governance, Impact Evaluation, Culture and Global Health

YIN Hui is an Assistant Professor at School of Public Health and Institute for Global Health and Development. She earned a Ph.D from the School of Public Health, Peking University in 2011 and became a tenured professor (lecturer). She worked at the department of global health in the University of Washington as a visiting scholar in 2014. She is currently the Youth Commissioner of Global Health, and the Youth Commissioner of Social Medicine, in the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association.

YIN Hui has worked for many years on research, teaching and consulting services in global health promotion, including the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and in global health governance. Since 2011, as an adviser to the National Health Commission in participating the World Health Assembly, Executive Board and the Western Pacific Regional Committee Meeting, she has been following up the progress of the global agenda and the scientific frontier on NCDs, and provided technical advice to the delegation, Such work includes tracking the NCDs items in WHAs, participating nine rounds of negotiations on the Global Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of NCDs in WHA66, and assisting WHO Secretariat modifying the resolution WHA67.12 about improving health and health equity across sectors, etc. Yin focuses on improving the risk factors for NCDs to promote health, with specifically in tobacco control. She is working with the International Union against TB and Lung Diseases to review international experience in implementing the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and to make policy recommendations for improving overall health, including respiratory health, through tobacco control.
