Prof. Yi is a Boya Distinguished Professor at Peking University, and a Professor of Economics at the National School of Development, Peking University since 2022. After receiving his Ph.D. in Economics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2011, he conducted the postdoctoral research in the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago in 2011-2014. Subsequently, he taught at National University of Singapore and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests lie in the Economics on Human Capital, Economics of Artificial Intelligence; Economic Development; Labor and Demographic Economics; Economics on Health and Healthcare; Health Big Data Analyses; Econometrics, Policy Evaluation; and Behavioral Economics. His research outputs have published in top international academic journals in the fields of economics, management, health, and demography, including Demography, Management Science, Review of Economics and Statistics, Economic Journal, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, International Economic Review, The Lancet, Journal of Labor Economics, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of the European Economic Association, Journal of Human Resources and Journal of Development Economics.
